Installed in dist. and tested w/ vacuum pump. Could not get the advance to move. Loosened the screws and it would move. Took distributor back apart and took advance out. During manufacture, they punch the slot out for the advance pull. If you look close at the picture you will notice a bit of metal that didn’t get cleaned off. When I screwed it down the tang of metal would bind on the pull arm. After I filed the tang off things worked great.

Perfect fit on 1960 sbc. Not fun to replace with distributor in car, but possible. Drives like new!

It was about 1″ shorter than the one in my HEI-converted ’71 Nova. I cut the brackets and rods off of the old and the new one, and welded the old bracket to the new vacuum advance, and lengthened the rod. This took about 20 minutes and it’s working very well.
