Worked perfectly. And if you own a Impreza or WRX/STI wagon MY 2008-2012, you’ll appreciate this replacement of that PIA hatch switch. Just a word of advice, there’s no reason to remove the rear wiper motor assembly at all. There is ample room to access the nut partially obstructed by the wiler motor if you use a 1/4″ rachet extension with wobble. They’re cheap and make installing this switch a relatively quick job. I also put silicone sealant around the opening since there is no gasket and also a few dabs where the wires lead into the switch itself because the trim piece holding the switch is open to water via the license plate light openings. Just plain old RTV sealant should be fine.

Works as it should and fit my 09 Impreza. The last one was all gummy. Kind of a pain to get the right panels off but a YouTube video helped.

Was having problems with my Subaru hatch.. turns out it was the button. Was super easy to install and now everything works like a charm!

Less expensive than the full harness with license plate lights for the 2009 Forested but works. I just cut the two wires and spliced into the existing harness using heat shrink butt splice connectors then wrapped with electrical tape. You could solder them in you wanted to, but it worked fine for me just using butt splices. Took longer to remove inner and outer rear hatch trim to get at the old switch and wiring than to install switch. I did not remove exterior trim fascia piece, I just let it dangle by the harness going into the interior part of the rear hatch as I spliced wires together. Switch fit perfectly and works perfectly too.

I installed this in my 2011 Impreza hatchback with no issues and the button works much better than my old one! It’s a little expensive for what it is but at least I can get into my hatch again.

Direct replacement part. There were a lot of parts to remove to get to this switch but it was easy to R&R this switch. Feels like new again and no more rubber on my fingers.
