The started on Bel Air my car died (running a Chevy 305ci engine and 200-4R trans from an 88 Monte Carlo SS) and this did the trick! This thing is like half the size and weight of the old one, and has way more clearance from the long tubes. Assuming it keeps working like this, the price point alone makes this a 5 star product.

This was a goof buy BUT!!! make sure you buy the right flywheel cause this is not a OEM replacement and you will need a special flywheel to use it. Read the description they have and it will tell you the number of teeth you need on your flywheel to use it.

Finally, a starter that always works perfectly. God only knows how many times the old starters have been rebuilt, but I gave up on trying to stay numbers matching on this part. I recommend the same with the steering gear box. Just go quick steer 21st century.

Bought this for a small block 350 boat engine. It worked great for the first 10 startups and now no clicks or anything. Ended up spending the extra few bucks on a Jeggs starter. Don’t bother
