Comparison points and tradeoffs
When comparing Carefree Replacement Rear Spring Assembly for RV Awning (18′ 1′ and Up) – Compatible with Carefree Fiesta, Spirit FX and Simplicity (Black) with other Accessories options, use this source-backed detail as the primary discriminator: Compatible Models: Covers a wide range of RV awning models, providing a convenient solution for owners of Carefree Fiesta, Spirit FX and Simplicity models 18′ 1″ and up (center of arm to center of arm measurement) 1997 to present.
Use this second fact to evaluate the tradeoff: Installation Recommendations: To guarantee a secure and effective replacement, it is recommended that individuals with experience or professional technicians handle the installation. The complexity of working with under-tension springs requires a skilled approach for optimal results and safety. A third point to compare across alternatives is: Tension Management: Awareness is crucial during the removal phase, as the spring, once detached from the arm, will unwind rapidly due to the high tension it holds. This underscores the need for careful handling to prevent accidents and ensure a safe replacement procedure.
Alternative-selection boundary
Choose an alternative when its stated identifiers, application, package, or specifications better match the requirement; no unverified competitor claim is introduced here.

Perfect replacement for old one which broke. The instructions were good and it takes 2 people about 15 minutes to replace first side and then just 5 minutes for other side once you figure it out on side 1. Make sure you have a rag and vice grip pliers; regular pliers that rely on your consistent and permanent tight grip are likely to result in it flying off and hurting yourself.

This was a perfect fit OEM replacement part. I have a 1997 Holiday Rambler Imperial with a 20 foot Carefree of Colorado Spirit Awning and this is the perfect part. I guess it fits from 1997 to present day. Super easy to install, about an hour in total for both front and back (Lt & Rt) , I replaced both springs and saved $300 by doing myself.

For a fiesta 16 foot awning. Apparently I purchased the longer spring for a 18’1″. This was cheaper than the 16-18. What’s the difference?

Haven’t had the chance to install it yet but I can tell you it is a good replacement part and everything seems to line up as it is supposed to. I will update in the next couple of weeks when I break it down and install it. This was definitely the correct part that I needed and I foresee it working well as long as the install isn’t too difficult…

This product is an exact replacement for my awning and works great when installed. My only complaint is the shoddy packaging which was a thick walled paper tube. It did have good end plugs, but arrived with the tube itself ruptured and a blob of tape trying to hold it together. Fortunately there was no physical damage to the product and it installed easily.
