NICHE GEAR SHIFTER
- The gear shifter switches gears on manual transmission vehicles. On Automatic vehicles this is called the gear selector.
- In manual vehicles the clutch pedal disengages the clutch and transmission from the engine when the pedal is pressed. When the shifter is moved it fits into the small groove of the linkage rod which then engages the teeth of the gears.
- In automatic vehicles the gear shift linkage rod moves a small lever in the transmission to operate a manual valve that drives liquid in the body to move the vehicle into the desired gear (PRNDL).

Perfect fit. Fixed my problem of not shifting properly. The shifter, rod and knuckles are very tight. The new shifter works like it it just came of the showroom floor.

had to file the pieace that fits onto shift shaft as the part was stamped out and had a bit of rolled metal that had to be filed for it to fit on . then it was a nice snug fit

The linkage is very small in diameter compared to the one I removed. Concerned on longevity. First package arrived with linkage but seller rectified it immediately sending another.

Shift rod is probably half the diameter of the factory unit so time will tell how long it will last. Everything else fit great and works great to replace the old worn out factory part.

Good replacement. Would have been nice if the original larger sizing was used for shifting rod but way better than my worn out original.

My 2004 Grizzly 660 had a worn out shifter and could only be adjusted to “Park” but no “low gear”. This is due to poor design of the original shifter. There is a fix to this using shims but that is only a temporary solution. I installed the NICHE shifter without difficulty, in fact the elongation of one of the mounting holes made installation easier than the original. I now have all gear positions no missed shifts, jerking or grinding. It works like new. The quality appears to be top notch. Some have commented on here that the slightly smaller diameter rod might be an issue but this should not be the case as there is very little force on it during normal operations. I gave it 5 stars.

Recieved and was overall happy with the quality, found the aluminum bracket that’s bolted on had 1 bolt cross threaded and ran almost all the way in. Removed and fixed the threads and tightened, also found when putting the linkage into the trans that the slotted lever wasn’t quite the same size on the flats, could tell it was just poor punching, filed to fit. Seems okay after those couple things are fixed.

It made my four wheeler feel like a new machine. Product fit very well and with very minor adjustment was able to shift into all the gears easily. My four wheeler is a 2005 so it has a lot of wear and tear on it. This shifter made a huge difference.
