the adjust tab was spot welded at one place made it very hard to adjust float level
Customer –
Wasn’t just a bolt on and go. I installed the carb but my jeep didn’t run very good. I had to set the float level and adjust the power valve. It runs better now but not perfect.

Encaja bien con mi jeep

Installed the carburetor on our GPW and found it stalled/starved for fuel working the throttle. Inspection found a horribly undersized accelerator pump for the carburetor bore. This carburetor was a failure the moment it was assembled at the factory. It’s been more than 30 days so a waste of almost $200. May try a new accelerator pump to see if we can save it but any notion of a QA check before it ships is false by the looks of it.

This carburetor showed up looking clean, solid, and ready to go. It definitely gave new life to my old Willys engine, with smoother starts and better throttle response right off the bat. The quality feels good, and it even looks the part under the hood—like it’s always been there. If you’re trying to keep things close to original, this carb checks a lot of the right boxes. That said, fitment can be a little tricky. It bolted up fine for me, but I can see how it might not match every CJ2A setup perfectly without a little adjusting or swapping a part or two. Definitely not a “slam it on and forget it” situation. Still, once dialed in, it’s been running strong and making the old Jeep a lot more fun to drive.

Carburetors for my older Jeep are hard to find. The Installation was a bit tricky, but did work, with no major issues to speak of. Just make sure that you know what you are doing and you should be fine. But as others have said, definitely double-check the compatibility of your vehicle.

Well made Carb. It WILL need to be adjusted to work with your particular vehicle. Ensure the float is adjusted as well as the metering rod. There are many resources online to help you with this basic bit of maintenance. Throttle shaft is well seated so not vacuum leak. Check the Idle set screw and such and you should be good to go.

This is a replacement for the old Willys engine. It works fine after some minor adjustments of the float and the metering rod. Other than that, the carburetor is great. Not hard to install at all. It was a good fit, so no complaints there.
