Have two Astros and both have fried the rear AC switch. These are a direct, plug and play part. Ya might want to pull your old switch first and see if the pigtail connector is fried, as this is a common problem and both of mine were. Order the AC Delco PT1356 pigtail kit with the switch. If you can cut and butt splice wires, replacing the pigtail is not rocket science.

I installed this switch with ACDelco PT1346 Female 8-Way Wire Connector with Leads and it works perfectly. The old switch in my ’96 Chevy Astro van caught fire for some unknown reason and melted not only the switch but also the wiring. I hear this is a common problem. The coloring of the switch face plate matches my interior perfectly. Well worth the money to keep the kids cool and quiet in the back seat of the van.

No problems with the switch fittment, was easy to install. I unsnapped the two halves and put more dielectric grease in it before I installed it since lack of grease contributed to the original switch failure. I would buy this again.

It’s just OK. Does the job with a little encouragement from you. Not a very good quality switch. Better than leaving a hole in the dashboard.
