My Kenmore Elite had been shutting of on spin. These rods looked exactly the same as the old ones but now the machine never makes it through spin without rebalancing the load a half dozen times.A vile of slippery grease came with the rods but no instructions what to do with it. I put it on the mounting balls on each end of the rods. I noticed the original rods had sticky damping grease on the rods. That may be why these do not work. If I had to do it over I would have gotten some damping grease and put in on the old rods.

It is this bushing that wears out that is why you have to replace these in the first place. Without that bushing is that these parts will be worse than the original worn out parts. This product should be recalled until this defect is rectified. In the attached picture I’ve pointed to where the missing bushing is supposed to go.
