Astroplane –
I purchased this step for a Sprinter van. You know, the big european looking vans? Anyhow I decided to take a chance with this inexpensive step. The Sprinter vans have very little aftermarket support so it was either this inexpensive Carr step or one that cost $395.Installation was tricky and required plenty of additional parts and supplies. I thought it was pathetic of Carr to not include lock washers. I suppose they think vehicles are not subject to vibration? The quality of the hardwear was great despite what others had reviewed except they could have included more of it.I would strongly suggest the following supplies if you plan on installing this step;1/2 lock washers, red loctite or red threadlock, various sockets, extensions ,wrenches. That being said…The step is actually quite strong and will support 300lbs.
