This fuel strainer cost a little over $2 when I bought it. Recently the price has shot up nearly 5 fold. These are really kind of generic items, and others remain available at much lower prices. We use them on old car restorations, cutting off the “sock” portion and fastening it around the fuel pick-up tube to keep any rust or sediment from inside the old fuel tank getting nto the fuel lines.I suggest looking for more economical strainers that would still meet your needs.Update May 2010: Price now at $0.85. That’s more like it!Update July 2010: Price increased to $4.65. What’s going on with this part?
