Bolt for putting nuts in broke putting in second but. 3 nuts stripped. Not the greatest of products.

These work perfect. If your truck didn’t come with running boards, inspect the mounting holes. If they are not threaded, you will likely need these. East to follow the directions. You don’t have to take anything apart on your truck. You need wrench/ratchet/sockets. I put the nut in place, torque the tool correctly, installed the running boards. Whole project took me a couple hours at most.

I needed this kit to install some second hand running boards on my 2017 Ram 1500. Came with everything you need including the nut-serts that have to be pressed in to thread into. I rated these 4 stars because I didn’t love the nut-sert install. The 25 N-m of torque didn’t quite make them snug in the mounting holes. I ended up going to 30 ft-lbs and there was still some play but it stayed in the hexagon holes. I figured once I tighten the running boards it would aid in flaring out the nut-sert. No issues within the first couple days. I will edit the review if I experience any issues.

These work great, I have a 2020 ram 2500. I had some older running boards off a 2013. I didn’t know if this would work when I ordered but they work great, fit the hole on the 2020 perfect

Worked great use impact drill to set the rivet. I tried using socket set but had issues. Oil the bolt, use wrench to hold nut and impact the 13mm on the rivet. I added a few washers to the bolt to make it easier to torque. All done within 1 hour.

I have to echo what another reviewer said. This kit is made from poor quality materials. 3 of the bolts snapped, and weren’t even threaded in all the way yet… was only using a 1/4″ ratchet and wasn’t torqueing them yet, just threading them in. Now I have to pay a shop to fix this mess. My previous 2012 RAM had grade 8 structural steel mounting bolts for the side steps, they would rip the nuts right out of the frame before they broke.

Everything was correct. Though honestly I dunno if it was just me, most likely was, I could not use that rivet nut tool correctly. Probably because I didn’t have the correct tools; also not familiar with rivet nuts… I straight up put the rivet nut in the hole and just screwed in the regular bolts. Without the revit makeshift tool it came with, and the side steps are actually pretty sturdy.

After reading reviews I worried about installing the rivnuts. Let me be clear that if you cant install the rivnuts by just using the tools suggested and following the directions supplied (Small piece of paper in the box with letters all over it that form words and paragraphs , read from left to right, top to bottom) you probably shouldn’t be adding accessories to your own vehicle. This product is super easy to install and just what I needed for a factory type install. 5 stars
