The tool is plastic but not cheap . If your doing a front oil seal on a ls engine save your slef the grief and get this tool . Lines up the timing cover Exact . Unlike the one they sell to use with the oil seal installed already ( harder to line up )

It seems about $20 overpriced but it works well no timing cover leak

Works great for install of seal and alignment of front cover on GM 5.3

Worked great, easy to use. Just remember to place oil on the seal, and you are able to turn it after tightening each bolt in the front cover.
