I did this job at work a few weeks ago. Check engine light diag from a failed state inspection. Rich bank 1 and 2. Pegged rich like -35 fuel trim on both banks. The conclusion I came to after seeing the oil level so over filled and smelling of raw gasoline, was the pump has to be leaking in to the crank case…right? LOL. Yeah, it came back for inspection a few days ago. No MIL, fuel trims perfect. No drivability concerns. The tools works as expected. After removing the intake manifold and fuel pump, you will be left with a hole, like an old distributor hole. Place the tool in the hole and rotate the engine clockwise until the tool sits flush on the fuel pump mounting surface. At first, it would never sit flush. Finally I realized it was just because of a dry fit, it was not dropping down when it should. A little lube, or some light pressure from a helper will allow it to drop down flush when it should.Service info (instructions) say to put the engine at TDC #1 exhaust stroke. Then wait for the special tool to become flush with the GDI/valley plate. But as far as I could tell, there’s no timing marks on the crank pulley and I didn’t feel like pulling the spark plug and doing all that. SO………After turning the engine over a few times, watching the tool, figuring out that I needed to put slight pressure to get it to drop down (or just lube it)…I realized it didn’t matter what the actual cylinder position was, just needed to be in such a way that the tool was flush. This will be a very quick job the second time you do it.Also, service info says to replace the fuel feed line once removed. I had it in the estimate, ordered it. OEM part, ACDelco. It was not the right fuel line. It was definitely a high pressure line with the same threaded fittings, but wrong shape entirely. So i didn’t replace it. I can see why they say to replace, because it’s a flared end type seal that carries gasoline and it is covered by a foam insulator (very flammable). So they say to do that for “safety”, but mostly to not get sued.Either way, I verified the repair was good before I shipped the truck. I also verified it again when he came back for inspection a few weeks later. All is good.

Gave it a 1star because of lack of information on what specific size engine it fits. Need it for 2.4L and this is way too big

The ad did not require an engine size. This is a v8 only part.
