Rick G –
The gas valve on my 5 year old Rheem furnace was starting to smell of propane after shutting off, I did a leak test and discovered the valve was not shutting off properly. I could have called a contractor but I have no issue replacing a gas valve as I understand the pressure calibration process and leak checking. Easy replacement and works identical to original, no more leaks and I save myself hundreds in service fees.
