Used this for two hours to clear 1-inch-thick ice on my sidewalk and driveway, and it performed like a champ! The 7-inch steel blade is sharp and sturdy, breaking through ice effortlessly. The ergonomic handle with impact reduction saved my arms and back, and the non-slip grip made it easy to control. It’s well-balanced, durable, and made quick work of the job. If you’re tired of weak ice tools, this one’s a game-changer. Highly recommend!

Got this right before the snow storm and it works as intended to clean up the thin ice on the ground from ice water dripping from the gutter. However when working on thick ice, it would be better to apply ice melter a while ahead. Its weight is easy to handle hence making it a handy tool to know off those low hanging icicles as well. The only thing that can be better would be its shock absorption spring, which works to relieve shocks passed onto your wrist however the stroke seems to be short so that the shock absorption is limited. This can differ from one to another though.

The compression spring is a shoulder saver. So happy with this purchase. Works as advertised. Wish I had found it earlier. I have been very pleased with all of our snow joe and sun joe products thus far

Easy to scrape ice but with the hardest old ice is more difficult, but in general terms: I like it.

I live in the Northeast (Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania). Throughout February, we were hit with horrendous snow and ice so I ended up with about 3-4 inches of thick ice on my driveway and walkways, making it totally impossible to drive on or walk on without wearing spikes on my shoes. I ordered this ice chipper and it really worked well in chopping some of the ice away especially in areas where you need to walk. It’s easy on the hands as the handle has a spring inside so it doesn’t take that much effort to apply pressure and break up the ice and push it to the side. I’m 68 and not as strong as I used to be but this allowed me to break up a lot of the ice so as not to be a prisoner in my house due to the weather!

This ice chopper is easy to use and the shock-absorbing handle makes the job more comfortable. It works great on thinner ice, breaking off large chunks with one swing. For thicker, solid ice, it’s much harder to break through. However, there’s one big downside — the blade seems to have a protective coating, but it wears off quickly from chopping ice. With melting snow and water exposure, the exposed metal starts to rust. Now I have yellow rust stains on my garage floor and front porch, which is really frustrating. It does the job, but the rust issue is something to consider.

solid well built makes a quick job of breaking ice spring take a bit of the shock out of hitting the ice if you have a lot of ice on your walk this is the tool for you

As described! It did a great job breaking the ice all over the driveway. Even worked for those ice hanging up by the roof. Happy with the product. The item arrived quick and without any issues. The spring worked well.

I purchased this ice breaker for my driveway and steps, hoping it would reduce the strain on my hands and wrist from the one I have used for years. I read a lot of reviews before making this purchase. Its sturdy, won’t break, and works, but the (sproing?) takes some getting used to. You kind of have to mess with it a bit to get used to how it works and figure out your rhythm to use it consistently. Full honesty, sometimes I do still pick up the old rigid one instead of this one for some driveway jobs.

By far the best ice breaker that I have used. Easy on the hands and elbows, handle with perfect length, strong and sharp blade. Broke large sheets of ice in seconds. In spring, wife used it as a shovel in the garden, and works perfectly there as well. Nifty little gem.
